It's a great choice for families looking for a community-centered Halloween activity without waiting until October 31. The event is listed on the Visit Sarasota County calendar for October 27, 2026.
Boo! at The Bay – October 17
Looking for a not-so-scary Halloween celebration? Boo! at The Bay takes place October 17 at The Bay Park in Sarasota.

Halloween at The Ringling – October 31
For families looking for something special on Halloween night, Halloween at The Ringling is scheduled for Saturday, October 31, from 4–7 p.m.
The family-friendly event offers a fun way to celebrate Halloween at one of Sarasota's most recognizable cultural destinations.
Sarasota Dog-A-Ween – October 31
Don't leave your four-legged family members out of the fun!
The annual Sarasota Dog-A-Ween returns October 31 as part of the Sarasota Farmers Market Halloween Festival. Dogs can dress up for a costume contest and parade, making this a fun event for animal lovers and their pets.
Haunted Sarasota Ghost Trolley Tours
If you're looking for something a little more mysterious, Sarasota's haunted history comes to life during the Halloween Haunted Musical Ghost Trolley Tour.
The seasonal tours run October 1–30 and combine local ghost stories, music, and Sarasota history. According to Visit Sarasota County, costumes are encouraged, and prizes are awarded for the best costumes on each tour.
For adults and older kids who enjoy a good ghost story, it's a unique way to experience downtown Sarasota after dark.
๐ป Halloween in Bradenton
Goblin Gathering – October 16
Families can kick off Halloween season early at Goblin Gathering at G.T. Bray Park in Bradenton on Friday, October 16, from 4–7 p.m.
This family-friendly event features treats and sweets from local businesses, bounce houses, face painting, costume contests, a petting zoo, magic, and other activities. Admission and trick-or-treating are free.
It's a great option for families with younger children who want Halloween fun without the scarier side of the holiday.
MCSO Spooktactical Night – October 22
On October 22, the Manatee County Sheriff's Office will host MCSO Spooktactical Night in Bradenton.
The free event includes trunk-or-treating, kids' activities, music, food, and demonstrations by MCSO special teams. It's another family-friendly alternative to traditional neighborhood trick-or-treating.
Halloween at the Bradenton Public Market – October 31
Halloween lands on a Saturday this year, making it the perfect opportunity to spend part of the day downtown.
Realize Bradenton has already listed Halloween at the Market for Saturday, October 31, as part of its 2026–2027 Bradenton Public Market schedule. Details for the celebration are still being finalized, so it's worth checking the event calendar as Halloween approaches.
Bradenton Ghost Tours
Want to hear some of Bradenton's darker stories?
Bradenton Ghost Tours offers guided haunted-history walking tours around downtown Bradenton. The tours combine local history with ghost stories and paranormal folklore, making them a fun option for adults and older kids looking for something beyond traditional Halloween activities.
For a more theatrical experience, Bradenton Ghosts Haunted Ghost Tours also offers nighttime haunted-history tours in the Bradenton area.
Delirium Haunted Trail
For serious Halloween fans, Delirium Haunted Trail offers a seasonal outdoor haunted-trail experience in east Bradenton.
This is one for visitors who prefer their Halloween with a little more fright rather than pumpkins and pony rides!
๐ท๏ธ Halloween in Lakewood Ranch
Lakewood Ranch is known for its strong sense of community, and Halloween is no exception.
BooFest at Lakewood Ranch Main Street – October 30
One of the biggest family Halloween events in Lakewood Ranch is BooFest on Main Street, happening Friday, October 30, from 6–9 p.m.
Children can trick-or-treat along Main Street while local merchants and vendors hand out treats. The Kids' Zone will feature face painting, balloon twisting, inflatables, and hands-on activities, while live music plays on the Main Stage.
The event is free, and the first 2,500 attendees can receive a free trick-or-treat pumpkin tote while supplies last.
It's the kind of community event that shows why so many families are drawn to the Lakewood Ranch lifestyle.
Halloween at Waterside Place
Lakewood Ranch's Waterside area also gets into the Halloween spirit with events and activities throughout the season.
Waterside Place and the surrounding Waterside community provide a walkable setting with restaurants, shops, entertainment, and community programming. The area is particularly popular for families looking for events where they can combine Halloween activities with dinner or an evening out.
Bandidoween at Agave Bandido – October 31
For an adult-oriented Halloween celebration, Bandidoween at Agave Bandido is scheduled for Halloween night at Waterside Place.
The celebration begins with a Halloween-themed happy hour from 3–6 p.m., followed by a party beginning at 8 p.m. with specialty drinks, dancing, and a $500 costume contest.
Halloween Costume Party at The Peculiar Pub – October 31
Over at Main Street, The Peculiar Pub is hosting a Halloween costume party on October 31 from 8–11 p.m.
The event includes music, dancing, a costume contest, and Halloween-themed specials. Admission is free, although registration is required.
๐ฌ More Halloween Fun Around the Area
If you're willing to venture just outside Sarasota, Bradenton, and Lakewood Ranch, there are even more options.
Wellen Park Spooktacular is scheduled for October 30 at Downtown Wellen Park, while Hocus Pocus Pops II brings Halloween-themed music to the Riverview Performing Arts Center that same evening. The Runaway Pumpkin 5K & Family Fest takes place October 31 in Sarasota.
